The International Community for Auditory Display (ICAD), founded in 1992, provides an annual conference for all research related to auditory display, the use of sound to display information. ICAD has given a home to auditory display researchers, who come from many different disciplines, through its conference and peer-reviewed proceedings.[1] Most of the proceedings are freely available on the ICAD web site.[2]
Many influential auditory display professionals are board members of ICAD.[3] For instance, Bruce Walker, director of the Georgia Tech Sonification Lab,[4] was president of ICAD from 2006 to 2011.
